Shirane-class Battlecruiser

The Shirane-class Battlecruisers were originally designed by the Sakurajima Federal Navy to operate alongside the Utsugi-class Battleships, but several design changes, advancements in technology, and political considerations delayed the finalization of the construction plans, ultimately leading to the emergence of the Shirane-class as a successor to the Utsugi-class.

While not as heavily armored as the Utsugi-class Battleships, let alone the Phoenix Republic's Black Hills-class Fast Battleships, the Shirane features better compartmentalization and improved sensors over its predecessor, and is still capable of better acceleration and equivalent firepower over its allied counterpart.
