The F-6N Hellraiser

The F-8F Vagabond and the F-6N Hellraiser were the children of two different paradigms, but both top contenders in their class.

The Vagabond was designed for air and space operations, giving it its streamlined appearance, unique bent wings to create an air cushion during atmospheric entry, and thrust vectoring capabilities. This, combined with a powerful armament of six General Photonics/Browning pulse lasers. considerable internal bay space, and the ability to mount external munitions, made it a formidable combatant in the air and void, and a darling of the ground forces.

The Hellraiser, on the other hand, does away with everything but the most basic streamlining (to preserve its ability to make emergency atmospheric entries), weight considerations, or any other pretense of elegance. It more than doubles the Vagabond's internal bay space and mounts an additional four particle beam projectors alongside the standard six pulse lasers.

It's been nicknamed the 'Smiling Devil' by adversaries for the positioning of its particle beam projectors and the shark teeth warpaint its pilots are fond of.
